Take Metro Rail to Metro Center
Station. Take the 13th Street exit, up the escalators to 13th Street. Turn Left
on 13th Street and walk one block to F Street. Turn right and walk one block to
14th Street. Turn left and enter the National Press Building on the 14th Street
side. Take the main elevators to the 13th floor

From Virginia:
|
1-395 north: Follow signs to
14th Street Bridge and exit onto 14th Street. This will take you north on 14th
Street, past the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and the Washington Monument.
When you cross Pennsylvania Avenue, the National Press Building is on the
right, next door to the J.W. Marriott Hotel, at the corner of 14th and F
Streets.

Bridge: |
Cross Memorial Bridge to D.C.,
bear left at Lincoln Memorial. Take a right on Constitution Avenue. Take a left
on 15th Street. Take a right on F Street. The National Press Building is next
door to the J.W. Marriott Hotel, at the corner of 14th and F
Streets. |

Take I-66 East across the Roosevelt
Bridge into D.C.; this becomes Constitution Avenue. Follow Constitution Avenue
to 15th Street and turn left. Take a right on F Street. The National Press
Building is next door to the J.W. Marriott Hotel, at the corner of 14th and F
Streets. |

|
Take the Baltimore-Washington
Parkway south and exit at New York Avenue (Route 50). Follow New York Avenue
all the way to 14th Street, N.W. and turn left. The National Press Building is
at the corner of 14th and F Streets.

There are two parking garages
within walking distance of the National Press Club. One is called
PMI and is located on the north side of G Street, N.W. between 13th
and 14th Streets.
The other is called Carr
Park and is at the corner of 15th and F Streets, N.W.

National Press
Club Background
The National Press Club is a
professional and social organization for journalists, public information
officers and regular news sources. The NPC has been a Washington institution
since 1908. The Club was formed by a group of 30 local journalists and has
grown to almost 4,500 members around the world. Membership includes reporters;
editors; publishers; news cartoonists and artists; news photographers; graphic
artists; business, station, advertising, circulation, and promotion managers;
systems operators, non-fiction authors, freelancers, public information
officers employed by a government agency or private company; college professors
of journalism or communications; regular news sources; book or play authors;
book or film editors; book publishers; and graduate students studying
journalism or communications. An ever-changing media industry has resulted in a
multifaceted membership base. The Club continues to support print media as well
as broadcast and internet mediums. The Club has created committees, awards and
scholarships that reflect changes in the field of journalism. |
