Twenty years after the first Common Defense (ComDef) Conference, technology transfer issues continue to be the central discussion point between the United States and its friends and allies and bedevil international armaments cooperation with significant adverse impact on Coalition functionality.
Threats to international peace and stability have changed; international industrial capability has changed; technology developed outside traditional government establishments has changed; but technology transfer regimes have not significantly adjusted to the seismic shifts in technology. New paradigms need to be developed and innovative models and domestic and international initiatives are underway to institute modern procedures. These issues will form the core of the 20th anniversary ComDef.
Join us at the National Press Club on Wednesday, 5th September for a stimulating discussion with senior government, military, industry, embassy and academic contemporaries. Also look out for a conference at the National Press Club on Thursday 6th September on the characteristics of successful program management with several case studies to be presented.
